Gerhard Kratzer acts as a trusted financial advisor to business owners, CEOs and CFOs. Leveraging his diverse background of finance and operations which is rooted in his Master’s degree studies of Finance, Economics, and Mathematics, Gerhard provides insight and direction during critical decision making processes.
His strong Financial Planning & Analysis expertise has earned him many accolades for spearheading the development and implementation of sustainable structure and process improvements, resulting in increased profitability and cash flow.
Before building his consulting practice, Gerhard worked for the Mebio/Coripharm Group, a small start-up in the Biomaterials industry, where he built a finance organization from scratch. As Division Controller for Heraeus Medical he was responsible for establishing a direct sales organization, including the design and establishment of finance processes. As Global Division Controller for Heraeus Materials Technology, his scope of responsibility spanned three continents (Europe, Asia, and North America) and honed both his professional competence and his savvy in navigating through cultural challenges. As a result of Gerhard’s strong performance, he was promoted to General Manager and Vice President of Finance, first at Heraeus Materials Technologies’ facilities in Chandler, AZ, and then at Heraeus Precious Metals in Santa Fe Springs, CA. In both roles he managed the Finance & Accounting team and other administrative and operational functions, including Purchasing, Supply Chain & Logistics, HR, IT, and Compliance.

Leveraging his diverse background of finance and operations which is rooted in his MBA in Finance and more than 35 years as a CFO, COO, CEO, and business owner, Buddy provides insight and direction during all phases of a company’s growth.
Buddy’s long career includes leadership in Sales, Strategic Planning, Finance, Operations, Business Development, Supply Chain, and Human Resources in public, privately owned, family-owned, and Private Equity owned companies attests to his well-rounded experience.
Before joining Kratzer Consulting, Buddy owned and operated Active Screw & Fastener, a boutique supply chain integrator specializing in small parts, where he diversified the customer base and created a group of professional leaders and managers. As Chief Financial and Operating Officer at Bay Travelgear, Buddy worked with Brentwood Private Equity to purchase his existing employer Outer Circle Products, owner of Arctic Zone and merge with Monarch Luggage and American Sports Group, where he was responsible for finance, operations, Supply Chain, Information Technology, and merger integration. At Rittenhouse Paper Company, Buddy directed the Finance and Operations team and was Chief Operating Officer of the Imaging Supplies division while the company grew from $43 million in sales to almost $170 million in sales. During that time, Buddy was also responsible for the company’s Mexican operations and purchasing from China and Japan.
